Short answer: Both hold 1,024 Wh and list 1,800 W of AC output, so the DELTA 3 is not bigger. It lists a higher surge (3,600 W vs 2,700 W), a longer cycle rating (4,000 vs 3,000 cycles to 80%+), faster AC charging (1,500 W vs 1,200 W) and a 10 ms UPS switchover. If you find a DELTA 2 clearly cheaper, it still covers the same jobs; if the listings are close, the DELTA 3 is the better buy. Need 2 kWh? Look at the DELTA 3 Max or DELTA 2 Max instead.

Check price on AmazonThe DELTA 3 is the newer model. It is not a bigger battery, though. Both the DELTA 2 and the DELTA 3 hold 1,024 Wh and list 1,800 W of AC output, so on a fridge or a CPAP they run the same number of hours. The changes are in surge, cycle life, charging speed and switchover time.
We compared these from EcoFlow's own spec pages; we haven't tested them. Figures were checked on October 29, 2026. EcoFlow changes specs and bundles often, so confirm on the listing before you buy.

The DELTA 2 column comes from EcoFlow's Canadian product page. EcoFlow's US page for the DELTA 2 now sends you to the DELTA 3 page, so the original may only be available from remaining stock or resellers. EcoFlow's US DELTA 3 page also uses the "DELTA 3 Plus" name in its footnotes and a bundle listing, so the two names appear to refer to the same 1,024 Wh model. Check the exact title on the listing.
What it means in practice
- Run time: identical. Hours = Wh × 0.85 ÷ watts. A fridge averaging about 52 W runs roughly 17 hours on either (1,024 × 0.85 ÷ 52).
- Starting motors: the DELTA 3's higher surge (3,600 W) gives more room for a fridge compressor, a pump or a power tool. The DELTA 2's 2,700 W covers most small motors too. See can a power station run a refrigerator.
- Battery life: 4,000 cycles vs 3,000. EcoFlow rates both to 80% or more of original capacity, so the two numbers are comparable.
- Charging: 1,500 W vs 1,200 W from the wall. Solar input is the same 500 W cap. See how long a power station takes to charge.
- Computers and CPAP: EcoFlow lists the DELTA 3's switchover as under 10 ms for keeping a NAS or server up. We did not find a switchover time on the DELTA 2 page, so don't count on it as a UPS.
Which is better, DELTA 2 or DELTA 3?
Choose the DELTA 3 if the listings are close in price. It has the better surge, cycle and charging numbers at the same size and almost the same weight.
Choose the DELTA 2 only if you find it listed clearly cheaper and you don't need a UPS function. For a fridge, lights, a router and phones, you will not notice the difference in an outage.
DELTA 3 Classic, Plus and Max: which is which?
EcoFlow sells several DELTA 3 models, and the names are easy to mix up:
| Model | Battery | AC output | Surge | Notes from EcoFlow's page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DELTA 3 (also called Plus) | 1,024 Wh | 1,800 W | 3,600 W | 4,000 cycles, 1,500 W AC charging, expandable up to 5 kWh |
| DELTA 3 Classic | 1,024 Wh | 1,800 W | 3,600 W | 2,600 W X-Boost, 1,400 W AC input, 0-80% in 45 min, 12.1 kg + 0.3 kg |
| DELTA 3 Max | 2,048 Wh | 2,400 W | 4,800 W | 68 min to 80%, 20.3 kg |
| DELTA 3 Max Plus | 2,048 Wh | 3,000 W | 6,000 W | Expandable 2 to 10 kWh, 43 min to 80% on generator charging |
DELTA 3 Classic vs DELTA 3: the Classic page lists the same 1,024 Wh, 1,800 W and 3,600 W, but a higher X-Boost figure (2,600 W vs 2,200 W) and slightly lower AC input (1,400 W vs 1,500 W). It lists a 10 ms UPS. We did not find a cycle rating on the Classic page, so compare that line on the listing before you decide.
DELTA 3 Max and Max Plus: these are the 2 kWh step up. Pick the Max Plus if you want 3,000 W and room to add batteries; the Max if 2,400 W is enough.
DELTA 2 Max vs DELTA 3 Max
The DELTA 2 Max also lists 2,048 Wh, 2,400 W and 4,800 W surge, with 3,000 cycles to 80%+ and up to 1,000 W of solar (two ports). EcoFlow lists it at 50 lb. The DELTA 3 Max is listed at 20.3 kg (about 45 lb), which EcoFlow calls 13% lighter than the previous 2 kWh unit, and adds a 10 ms UPS. Same trade-off as the smaller pair: similar size, newer model with the better extras.
Quick buying checklist
- Match the exact name. "DELTA 2", "DELTA 2 Max", "DELTA 3", "DELTA 3 Classic", "DELTA 3 Max" and "DELTA 3 Max Plus" are all different products.
- Add up your watts and check them against continuous output and surge.
- Check what is in the box. Many listings bundle panels or extra batteries.
- Check the warranty length on the listing and whether registration is needed.

Frequently asked questions
Is the EcoFlow DELTA 3 better than the DELTA 2?
On EcoFlow's pages, yes on most numbers: higher surge, longer cycle rating and faster AC charging at the same 1,024 Wh and 1,800 W.
How many hours does a 1,024 Wh station run a fridge?
About 17 hours for a fridge averaging 52 W, using the 0.85 loss factor. Real runtime varies with the fridge and room.
Can a DELTA 3 or DELTA 2 run a space heater?
A 1,500 W heater would drain 1,024 Wh in well under an hour. Use small heated blankets instead.
Is the DELTA 3 Plus the same as the DELTA 3?
EcoFlow's US DELTA 3 page uses the Plus name in its footnotes and in a bundle listing, with the same 1,024 Wh and 1,800 W specs. Check the exact title on the listing.
